His Eminence Khamtrul Rimpoche at UWICE

3rd November 2013, His Eminence the Ninth Gyalwang Dokhampa Jigme Pema Nyinjadh is leading a team of walking pilgrimage, which started on the 1st November from Tharpaling Monastery after visiting some sacred sites around the Monastery. En route from Tharpaling Monastery, a team visited the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE). On arrival from the northern entrance, the walking pilgrimage were received by the Lam Neten of Jakar Rabdey, Director  and faculty members of the Institute and were ushered to the Lamai Goempa Dzong for light refreshment. Forest Protection Module Completed

29th October 2013. At the end of the Forest Protection module for the certificate course in Conservation, Environment and Forestry Studies at UWICE, Mr. Damber Singh Rai, the Chief Forestry Officer of Wangchuck Centennial Park was invited as a guest lecturer. He delivered a lecture on the importance of protecting our forest and the crucial role that foresters have to play in terms of protecting and promoting our conservation effort. [Read More...]

Poultry Farming Training at UWICE

On 4th October 2013, the Institute invited two veterinarian from Bumthang veterinary hospital to impart short training on Poultry Farming for the trainees and interested faculty members. The training provided basic skills on poultry farming and key identification steps for detecting infected poultry in the farm. [Read More...]
