I work as a researcher at the Forest Science and Technology Centre, UWICER-Thimphu since my appointment in 2007. I have Masters in Environmental studies (Forest Ecology) from the University of Tokyo (2010-2012) and B.Sc. Forestry from the G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (20022006).

Apart from coordinating and leading several research projects on forests, livelihood and climate change, my research interest revolves around understanding of forest ecosystem dynamics with human interventions particularly the old growth oak forests and their roles in providing ecosystem goods and services to the local communities. I am also actively engaged in the multiplication and promotion of the economically important religious tree Ziziphus budhensis (Chemshing) as an effort to conserve the species while creating avenues for income generation to rural communities.
