I am Tshering Tempa, working as a Chair of the Department of Conservation Biology of the Institute. I have an undergraduate degree in Forestry Sciences from the University of Agriculture Sciences, Dharward, India 2003. Soon after my study, I worked with the district territorial forest division briefly and then joined Ugyen Wangchuck Forestry and Environmental Institute as an assistant lecturer. After working for few years, I got first Trongsa Penlop Conservation Fellowship to pursue graduate studies in Wildlife Biology at the University of Montana (2008). I developed wildlife management program for the College of Natural Resources as part of the graduate dissertation. Currently, I am interested to study the predator –prey dynamics and their habitats in a landscape context as well as to study the connectivity and movement of wildlife population and population dynamics using non-invasive sampling methods. Other areas of interest are to study the climate change’s impact on the habitat of wildlife and the impact of trees and shrubs encroachment in grassland on the ungulate population.
