Faculty and students of Royal Thimphu College and Sikkim University visits the Institute

A group of students and faculty comprising of 16 students and 2 professors from Sikkim University, and 38 students and 6 lecturers from Royal Thimphu College are on a two-day visit to the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environmental Research.

The faculty of the UWICER presented on various researches, trainings and conservation programs being carried out at the Institute while the faculty of Sikkim University and Royal Thimphu College highlighted on some of the educational programs being offered at their respective universities. Students also joined in regular mist-netting exercise carried out by the trainees of UWICER. The team will undertake field excursion on the final day to the research preserve of the Institute whereby they will be familiarized on various research activities and also conduct practical session on wildlife and plant identification.

The Institutes will have a brainstorming workshop on indentifying research, education and future collaboration opportunities at the Royal Thimphu College in the coming week.

This  program is a part of project supported by Himalayan University Consortium Secretariat housed at ICIMOD.
