SFS-Bhutan Fall Program Students at UWICER, Bumthang

Twenty four undergraduate students from the USA who are in Paro attending the School for Field Studies (SFS) - Bhutan Fall Semester program are currently at UWICER, Bumthang for their main semester field excursion. The Director Mr. Shacha Dorji, during the reception dinner hosted by UWICER, welcomed the SFS group and expressed his appreciation for the successful SFS program in Bhutan. He also wished for a successful field excursion in Bumthang and for the remaining Fall Semester program in Bhutan.

The students, during their 10 days stay at UWICER will have an opportunity to interact and learn with researchers and students of the Institute including guest lectures from both UWICER and other relevant offices. The students will also visit various rural development and cooperatives farms in Bumthang.

The SFS program is hosted at the Center for Himalayan Environment and Development at Paro in partnership with UWICER, DoFPS and The Bhutan Ecological Society (BES).

The students return for their Center at Paro on October 22, 2017.
