Training on Microsoft Access Begun at UWICE

A three-day training on Microsoft Access began at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE), on 29 April, 2013.

Microsoft Access is a relational database for organizing and managing complex datasets. It is an indispensable tool for field researchers, human resource managers, laboratory scientists, and others to manage their data efficiently. Microsoft Access is compatible with Microsoft Excel, and can perform many data manipulation and query functions that Excel cannot. It is especially useful for converting raw data to formats appropriate for statistical analyses and publication of tables.

This 3-day training is entirely hands-on, with practical exercises to demonstrate theory. The resource person for the training is Dr. Ellen Cheng, a research scientist of the Institute.
