General Service Policies
The Institute aspires to become a centre of excellence in the field of environment research and share their scholarly information with national and international partners. In order to fulfil the mission, the library has adopted a number of policies and procedures to ensure maximum utilization of resources and services.
User's Responsibilities
- The Library staff is empowered to interrupt and stop any kind of activity in the library which is considered to be prejudicial for safety and well being of other users.
- Any issues related to library should be consulted with the librarians to solve it or otherwise seek further advice or suggestions.
- Abide by the policies and procedures of the library.
- Observe and comply with instructions and directives from the library staff and acknowledge their responsibility and authority to enforce these.
- Treat other users and staff with respect and politeness.
- Maintain silence in all public reading areas and behave well while moving around the library.
- Respect the rights of other library users by refraining from behaviour that is disruptive.
- Smoking, eating and drinking in the library is restricted.
- Do not use equipments which may likely to disturb other users or damage library materials.
- Be responsible and take care of all the materials issued against your name.
- Return the material by due date to make available for others, and do not transfer any material issued against your name to another user.
- Do not remove any library materials from the library without authorization from the library staff or before completion of lending procedures.
- Make staff aware of any assistance required to find out your reference.
- Be considerate of other users' need.
