There are a number of websites and databases, which allows user to download full or parts of the e-book content. The following are the some of a few organizations and institutions, that provide us the ebook download.

Biodiversity Heritage Library

Biodiversity Heritage Library is a consortium of natural history and botanical libraries, which provides an open access e-book resources through a digitization.

Google Books

Millions of books can be accessed and read for free from Google books.

Open Ebooks Library

Accessible for the public under the creative commons license. Varieties of ebooks such as botany, cosmoloy and zoology are made available .

eBooks@Adelaide

Free books online from the University of Adelaide.

eScholarships

Hundreds of academic titles are provided for the public access.

Million Book Project

The Million Book Project is a collaborative internet library launched by the institutions of world-wide. Books are digitized and then indexed using optical character recognition (OCR).

Online Books

Contains an index of online books, directories and archives of online texts. Special collections such as a Celebration of Women Writers, Banned Books and Prize Winning Books Online are highlighted for the public.

Project Gutenberg

More than 38,000 e-books are collected by the Project Gutenberg. Most of them are old literature, which are out of copyright in the United state. Can be downloaded or read online.

RAND

The collections consist of reports from the RAND corporation covering issues of US national security, education, health, law, and science.
